Google extended the concept of the Chrome Experiments site to the Android platform - encouraging artists, creative technologists, game designers and others to make small experiments that pushed and explored the limits of Android at the time.
It is still thriving at https://experiments.withgoogle.com/collection/android, while the ‘Experiments.withgoogle.com’ approach has grown to encompass AR/VR, AI, and explore other implications of technology such as accessibility - from this first step beyond Chrome.
