OnHub was Google’s first foray into wifi routers, designed to on show in the home, hence boosting performance. Most routers at the time were ugly, utilitarian and hence hidden away – which hindered connectivity.
OnHub makers was an initiative building on this encouraging artists, designers and craftspeople to create interchangeable bespoke housings for the device, highlighting this positioning.
